The ACCUPRO 12182188 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers consistent cutting performance and edge retention in demanding materials. The 0.5 inch diameter cutter features 3 right-hand spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle and a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating that reduces friction and improves wear resistance. The centercutting geometry allows the tool to plunge directly into a workpiece. This stub-length end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop, toolroom, and production machining environments.
This end mill is suited for milling slots, pockets, profiles, and contours in ferrous and non-ferrous metals on vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills. The stub length overall measurement of 2.5 inches and 0.625 inch length of cut limit overhang and improve rigidity, making it a reliable choice for applications where chatter control and dimensional accuracy are priorities. The 0.5 inch shank fits standard ER, milling chuck, or Weldon-style toolholders common to most machining setups.
Designed as a standard 0.5 inch shank square end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, milling chucks, and Weldon-style side-lock toolholders with a 0.5 inch bore. Fits vertical machining centers and CNC milling machines accepting 1/2 inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an E-stop or lockout state. Seat the shank to the minimum recommended insertion depth for the toolholder type in use and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use. Never exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and tool diameter.
