The ACCUPRO 12182157 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this stub-length tool features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1/4 inch length of cut, and a 3-flute spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 1/8 inch shank, this end mill is suited for tight-clearance work and light profiling passes on CNC mills and manual machining centers. It is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill is intended for use in general-purpose milling operations including slotting, profiling, and contouring on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The stub length design improves rigidity and reduces deflection during aggressive cuts at shallow depths. The centercutting configuration allows the tool to plunge directly into the workpiece, adding versatility for pocketing operations. The uncoated micrograin carbide substrate is appropriate for applications where a base carbide edge is preferred or where coatings are not required by the material or process specification.
Designed as a standard 1/8 inch shank square end mill compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and tool holders sized for 1/8 inch shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the collet or holder to the recommended gauge-line depth to prevent pullout during cutting. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, as micrograin carbide tools are sensitive to excessive runout and improper clamping.
