The ACCUPRO 12182108 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 0.09 inch corner radius, and a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, with a TiCN coating that improves surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide tooling. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry supports efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 3-1/2 inches overall length with a 5/8 inch shank, this single-end, centercutting tool is well suited for slotting, profiling, and ramping operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is intended for use in machine shops, tool rooms, and production environments where corner radius geometry is required to reduce stress concentrations and produce blended edges on machined parts. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry into workpiece material, adding flexibility in multi-operation setups. Micrograin carbide construction supports higher speeds and feeds than standard carbide grades, making it appropriate for demanding cuts in steel, stainless, and hardened materials. Machinists and CNC programmers working on close-tolerance components will benefit from the tight mill diameter tolerance of +0.000000 to -0.002500 inches.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 5/8 inch collets, end mill holders, and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a powered-off, locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Verify that the toolholder bore and collet are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to maintain runout within acceptable limits. Do not exceed the recommended gauge length for this tool diameter, as excessive overhang reduces rigidity and accelerates tool wear. Confirm spindle direction and programmed feed rates before engaging the cut.
