The ACCUPRO 12182105 is a single-end corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of metals and hard materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride), it delivers extended tool life and resistance to heat and wear in demanding cutting environments. The 0.03-inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and produces a consistent radius blend at the bottom of pocketed features. At 5/8 inch in diameter with a 1-1/4 inch length of cut and 3-1/2 inch overall length, this tool is suited for medium-depth slotting, profiling, and contouring operations. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC mills are the primary users.
This end mill is used in CNC milling applications where a controlled corner radius is required on pocketed or profiled features. It is appropriate for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials in both job-shop and production environments. The TiCN coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction, making it a strong choice for higher-speed cutting passes where tool wear would otherwise shorten intervals between changes. The 3-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with cutting stability, which is well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes in softer steels and aluminum.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 5/8-inch collet or end mill holders on CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tool from the holder. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder matching the 5/8-inch shank diameter and torque the retention mechanism to the machine manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or wear before each use; carbide tools can fail suddenly if run with pre-existing edge damage.
