The ACCUPRO 12182079 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this single-end tool features a 40-degree helix angle, spiral flute geometry, and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating. The AlTiN finish improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. With a 0.5 inch cutting diameter and three flutes, the 12182079 delivers a balance of chip clearance and cutting edge strength suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling at aggressive feed rates.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills across job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. It is well-suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys where coating durability and geometry accuracy are critical. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, expanding its use to pocketing and ramping operations without a pre-drilled starting hole.
Designed as a standard 0.5 inch shank square end mill compatible with ER, shrink-fit, and Weldon-style toolholders accepting a 0.5 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by machining professionals using a properly sized toolholder torqued to the machine tool manufacturer specifications. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before clamping. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are set per material guidelines before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the rated length of cut or use the tool for grinding or prying operations.
