The ACCUPRO 12182054 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hard-material applications. With a 29/64-inch (0.4531-inch) cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 3-inch overall length, this tool is built for rigidity and accuracy in a regular-length profile. The micrograin carbide substrate paired with an AlTiN finish delivers thermal resistance and wear life in dry or minimum-quantity lubrication setups. Three spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry, and runs in a right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration. Professional machinists and CNC tool-and-die technicians are the primary users.
This end mill suits general-purpose and production milling in job shop and manufacturing environments. The 1/2-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 40-degree helix is well-matched to alloy steels, stainless, and cast iron at moderate to high feed rates. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for toolholder torque and runout verification. Confirm spindle is fully stopped and machine is in an E-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Verify shank seating depth meets the toolholder minimum engagement spec and check runout with a dial indicator after clamping. Do not exceed the toolholder rated RPM for the selected shank diameter.
