The ACCUPRO 12182001 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 5/16 inch diameter with a matching 5/16 inch shank, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.045 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations and extends tool life at part edges. The three-flute, right-hand spiral geometry paired with an AlTiN coating makes this end mill well suited for high-speed machining of hardened steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and other abrasive alloys. It is a single-end, centercutting tool with a 40-degree helix angle and an overall length of 2.5 inches.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills where a radiused corner profile is required on finish or semi-finish cuts. It is a common choice for die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and general production environments where edge integrity and dimensional consistency are critical. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and resists chipping in interrupted cuts. Machine operators and tool-and-die machinists are the primary users of this type of cutter.
Designed as a direct-fitment replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/16 inch straight shank end mill holder, collet, or shrink-fit toolholder.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with proper toolholder torque procedures and runout verification. Verify toolholder and collet cleanliness before seating the shank to maintain concentricity within manufacturer tolerances. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth-of-cut parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity before engaging the cut. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting tooling.
