The ACCUPRO 12182000 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and hardened materials in machining environments. It features a 5/16 inch diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius, which reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life compared to sharp-corner geometry. With 3 flutes and a right-hand spiral flute direction, this single-end centercutting tool handles both slotting and plunge operations. The AlTiN coating provides high-temperature resistance and hardness, making it well suited for dry cutting or high-speed machining of steel, stainless, and cast iron. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this end mill in CNC milling applications.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where a corner radius profile is required to add strength to inside corners or match part geometry. The centercutting capability allows direct plunging into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. It is commonly applied in mold-making, die work, aerospace component machining, and general precision manufacturing where tight tolerances and edge integrity are critical. The 3/4 inch length of cut provides sufficient depth for most standard milling passes in these applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fitment corner radius end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/16 inch shank collet or end mill holder.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists using an appropriate collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholder rated for the 5/16 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or powered-down state before changing tooling. Confirm runout at the collet before cutting, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on carbide tools. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material and coating type.
