The ACCUPRO 12181991 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 5/16-inch diameter cutting head with a 0.02-inch corner radius, a 3/4-inch length of cut, and 3 right-hand spiral flutes. The micrograin solid carbide construction provides edge hardness and wear resistance. A TiCN coating reduces friction and extends tool life in demanding cutting applications. With a 2-1/2-inch overall length and a matching 5/16-inch shank diameter, this single-end, centercutting tool fits standard end mill holders. It is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom professionals on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling where a controlled corner radius is required to reduce stress concentrations in the finished workpiece. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, giving operators flexibility in toolpaths. The 40-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Typical applications include mold work, die making, and precision part production where corner radius tolerances are held to close limits. This tool is sized for light to medium stock removal on machines with appropriate spindle speeds and feed rate capability for 5/16-inch carbide tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill for standard end mill holders and collet chucks accepting a 5/16-inch shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank to the recommended engagement depth in the collet or end mill holder to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify spindle speed and feed rate settings are appropriate for the tool diameter and workpiece material before initiating a cut.
