The ACCUPRO 12181978 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metal, composite, and hard material applications. It measures 0.2969 inches (19/64 inch) in diameter with a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 2-1/2-inch overall length. The 5/16-inch shank accepts standard collet chucks and end mill holders. Three spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces. A TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating improves wear resistance and surface hardness compared to uncoated carbide. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and extended tool life in demanding cuts. This tool is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as plastics and composites. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC machining center spindles. The regular length designation makes it a practical choice for general-purpose milling where extended reach is not required. It is appropriate for both horizontal and vertical milling setups on manual and CNC machines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct selection for standard 5/16-inch collet chucks and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines requiring a 19/64-inch diameter square end mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Secure the shank fully into a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use. Never exceed the tool's rated speed and feed parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
