The ACCUPRO 12181960 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/4 inch diameter cutting face, a 0.045 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle. The TiCN coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance for extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. With a 3/4 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length, this single-end, centercutting tool is suited for profiling, slotting, and finishing passes where edge integrity and radius consistency are critical. Machinists and toolroom operators specify this geometry when blending floors to walls without sharp corner stress risers.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for precision part production in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms. The centercutting capability allows plunge entry, expanding its use across interpolated pockets, ramp entry paths, and contour milling. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found on vertical machining centers and high-speed spindle setups. It is appropriate for cutting aluminum, steel, stainless, and other materials where TiCN coating provides adequate thermal and abrasion protection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/4 inch collet or end mill holder.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an estop or tool-change state. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the collet or holder per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before initiating any cutting cycle. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide tools can micro-fracture under improper storage or handling. Tool runout should be verified with a dial indicator after setup, particularly at small diameters where runout has a proportionally larger effect on cut quality and tool life.
