The ACCUPRO 12181885 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling of hardened steels, stainless steels, and other demanding materials. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 1-3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The AlTiN coating provides excellent heat resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. With a 40-degree helix angle and right-hand spiral flutes, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. It is a single-end, centercutting design, meaning it can be used for plunge cuts as well as peripheral and slot milling. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this tool in CNC machining centers and vertical mills.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling operations where a radiused corner is required to prevent sharp inside corners on workpiece features. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace components, and precision part machining where corner radius tolerances are tightly controlled. The 3-flute configuration balances chip clearance with rigidity, making it effective in both roughing passes at moderate depths and finishing passes requiring tight dimensional control. The 1 inch shank diameter provides a secure, concentric grip in standard end mill holders or shrink-fit tooling systems.
Designed as an OEM-style corner radius end mill for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and other rotating spindle equipment accepting a 1 inch shank diameter tool holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool runout and holder clamping torque. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or unloading the tool. Verify tool projection and holder grip length prior to operation to minimize vibration and deflection. Always confirm spindle RPM and feed rate settings are appropriate for the workpiece material and coating type before starting a cut.
