The ACCUPRO 12181884 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hard materials. It features a 1 inch diameter cutting face with a 1-3/4 inch length of cut, a 0.045 inch corner radius, and three flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral configuration. The tool carries an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, which provides high heat resistance and extends tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. With a 40-degree helix angle and centercutting capability, this end mill handles both ramping and plunging operations. It is manufactured from micrograin solid carbide for dimensional stability and edge retention at elevated cutting speeds.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills operating on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, and similar hard or abrasive workpiece materials. The single-end, centercutting design makes it practical for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling where the tool must enter material axially. The 1 inch shank diameter accommodates standard ER or side-lock toolholders common in production and job-shop environments. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians working in aerospace, mold-and-die, and general metalworking applications will find this geometry appropriate for finishing passes and medium-load roughing where corner integrity is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 1 inch ID end mill toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or drawbar is de-energized before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and compromise corner radius tolerance.
