The ACCUPRO 12181872 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting applications. It features a 1 inch diameter, a 1-3/4 inch length of cut (1.5000 inches decimal), and a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in high-demand operations. The TiCN coating provides increased surface hardness and improved wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. With three right-hand spiral flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, this end mill delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting performance. It is a single-end, centercutting design, meaning it can plunge directly into a workpiece. Machinists and toolroom operators working in job shops, production facilities, and aerospace or mold-and-die environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals where corner integrity is critical. The corner radius geometry makes it well suited for profiling, slotting, and contouring operations where sharp inside corners are not required and where tool breakage at the cutting edge must be minimized. The 1 inch shank diameter accommodates standard ER or side-lock toolholders found on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The 4 inch overall length provides clearance for moderate-depth pockets and cavities without sacrificing rigidity.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide corner radius end mill suitable for use in standard 1 inch bore ER collet chucks, milling chucks, and side-lock toolholders on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Confirm shank engagement depth meets the toolholder minimum requirement before tightening. Do not exceed the end mill's rated depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material being machined.
