The ACCUPRO 12181843 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hard material applications. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction in demanding cuts. The 2-flute, spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and clean wall finishes. At 6 inches overall length with a 1.5-inch length of cut, this is classified as an extra-long reach end mill suited for deep-pocket and cavity work where standard-length tools cannot reach. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals, it fits standard CNC machining centers and manual knee mills with a 7/16-inch collet or end mill holder.
This end mill is well suited for side milling, slotting, and profile milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into material without a pre-drilled hole. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry make it compatible with standard spindle rotation on conventional vertical machining centers. The extra-long overall length of 6 inches makes it particularly useful for deep-pocket work, tall workpiece features, or setups requiring extended reach past fixtures or clamps.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 7/16-inch shank end mill holders, collet chucks, and ER-style collets on CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills requiring an extra-long 2-flute square end mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening to prevent pullout under load. Inspect the collet bore and tool shank for chips or contamination prior to installation, as debris can cause runout and premature tool wear.
