The ACCUPRO 12181828 is a solid carbide square end mill built for precision material removal in milling applications. It features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, placing it in the long series category. The 40-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces. A TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. With micrograin carbide construction, this end mill holds tight tolerances and resists chipping during aggressive cuts. It is suited for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC mills and manual milling machines.
This end mill is designed for general-purpose and finish milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites in production and job-shop environments. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, expanding its use in slot milling and pocketing operations. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional spindle rotation. The 2-flute design is well-suited for softer materials and applications where chip clearance is a priority over surface finish. The long series length makes it applicable for deep-reach milling where standard-length end mills cannot reach the full depth of cut.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 5/8 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit tooling systems on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. The shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches is designed for close-fit collet and hydraulic chuck systems — verify holder runout before use to avoid premature tool failure. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing tooling. Do not exceed the rated length of cut or apply side loads beyond the tool geometry's design limits without confirming rigidity of the setup.
