The ACCUPRO 12181817 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) finish, this tool offers elevated heat resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and hard materials. The 2-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 3/8 inch in diameter with a 1 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length, this is a long-series end mill suited for reaching into deeper pockets and features without sacrificing rigidity. Centercutting capability allows direct plunging into workpiece material.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. The long length of cut range (1.0000 to 1.2500 inches) makes it appropriate for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials where AlTiN coatings perform best. Right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction follows standard spindle rotation on conventional milling equipment. Machinists and CNC operators running ferrous alloys will find this geometry and coating combination well-matched to dry or minimal-lubricant cutting strategies.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 3/8 inch collets, end mill holders, or ER-style toolholding systems on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in an e-stop state before changing tooling. Seat the 3/8 inch shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use.
