The ACCUPRO 12181807 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool features a 3/16-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length, placing it in the long-reach category for accessing deeper workpiece features. The 40-degree helix angle and TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating work together to improve chip evacuation and surface finish while extending tool life in abrasive cutting conditions. Micrograin carbide construction provides edge strength and wear resistance. A licensed machinist or CNC programmer typically selects this tool for fine-detail profiling, slotting, and contouring operations on a vertical machining center or CNC mill.
This end mill is suited for light to medium-duty milling on manual knee mills and CNC machining centers in job shop, production, and tool-and-die environments. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, adding versatility for ramping and helical interpolation toolpaths. The long overall length makes it appropriate for reaching into stepped pockets, deep slots, or fixture-clearance situations where a standard-length end mill would contact the holder before the feature.
Designed as a straight-shank solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 3/16-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems used on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
A qualified machinist should install and set this tool using the appropriate collet or toolholder torqued to the holder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before cutting — excessive runout at this diameter accelerates edge chipping. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Follow shop SOP and applicable OSHA machine-guarding requirements when operating milling equipment.
