The ACCUPRO 12181791 is a solid carbide, square-end, single-end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide, it offers a 0.375-inch cutting diameter and a 1.375-inch length of cut, with a 40-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The spiral flute geometry and centercutting capability allow this tool to plunge directly into workpiece material as well as perform standard peripheral milling. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and similar machine tool setups where tight tolerances and consistent performance are required.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials where an uncoated, micrograin carbide substrate is appropriate. The extra-long length type, with a 3-inch overall length against a 0.375-inch shank diameter, provides extended reach into deeper pockets, slots, and cavities that standard-length tooling cannot access. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation match the standard spindle rotation of most vertical machining centers and milling machines. Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Secure the shank to the published shank diameter tolerance using a properly sized collet or end mill holder; avoid over-tightening set-screw holders against the shank to prevent damage to the tolerance surface. Verify runout with a dial indicator before first use when tight dimensional tolerances are required. A licensed machinist or qualified toolroom technician should set speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
