The ACCUPRO 12181760 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 7/16-inch cutting diameter, a 3-inch length of cut, and a 6-inch overall length, this tool falls into the extra-long category, making it suitable for deep-pocket and extended-reach applications. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. A 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the micrograin carbide substrate supports higher feed rates and longer tool life compared to standard-grade carbide. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance machine shops.
This end mill is suited for vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills equipped with the appropriate collet or end mill holder for a 7/16-inch shank. The extra-long overall length of 6 inches and 3-inch length of cut make it particularly useful for deep cavity milling, tall workpiece features, and applications where standard-length tooling cannot reach. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry, supporting slot milling, ramping, and helical interpolation strategies. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-install end mill for any machine tool accepting a 7/16-inch shank via collet chuck, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before inserting or removing the tool. Use a calibrated torque wrench on collet nuts where manufacturer torque specifications are available. Inspect the shank and holder bore for chips or burrs before seating the tool to maintain concentricity within tolerance.
