The ACCUPRO 12181748 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, it handles elevated cutting temperatures and extends tool life in demanding applications. The 2-flute configuration provides efficient chip evacuation, and the 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action. With a 1.125-inch length of cut and a 3-inch overall length, this is classified as an extra-long reach end mill, suited for deeper pocket milling and profiling where standard-length tools cannot reach. Machinists and tooling professionals install this tool in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for precision milling operations in job shops, production machining environments, and tool-and-die applications. The centercutting geometry allows plunge milling, making it versatile for slot cutting, profiling, and pocketing in a single setup. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration are standard for conventional CNC spindle use. The extra-long length of cut is particularly useful when working on deep features or when additional clearance is needed above the workpiece.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 3/16 inch collets or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the full recommended engagement depth before tightening. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are set appropriately for the workpiece material and tool diameter before beginning the cut. Never exceed the tool's rated depth of cut or run the tool in a worn or undersized holder, as this can cause tool breakage or workpiece damage.
