The ACCUPRO 12181650 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide, this two-flute end mill measures 0.3281 inches (21/64 inch) in cutting diameter with a 40-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry. The stub-length configuration keeps the tool rigid, reducing deflection during aggressive cuts. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation make it compatible with standard CNC and manual milling setups. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this type of tooling.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The uncoated micrograin carbide construction performs well in aluminum, brass, copper, and softer steels where a coating is not required or where regrinding is anticipated. The stub overall length of 2 inches keeps the tool compact for tight-clearance work on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC routers. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and end mill holders commonly found in job shop and production environments.
Designed as a standard-shank square end mill for use in ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter on CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and similar milling equipment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the end mill. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout at the cutting diameter before initiating a program, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish.
