The ACCUPRO 12181642 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in metalworking and machining applications. With a 19/64 inch (0.2969 inch) cutting diameter and a 2-inch overall length, this stub-length tool is built for rigidity in tight-clearance setups. The TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating improves hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. Two spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation. The micrograin carbide substrate supports sharper cutting edges and longer tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece.
This end mill is suited for milling, slotting, and profiling operations on machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills. The stub length-of-cut design reduces deflection, making it appropriate for applications requiring dimensional accuracy in close-tolerance work. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling on most spindle setups. Machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance environments are the primary users of this tool.
Designed as a standard replacement or new-install square end mill for toolholders and collets accepting a 5/16 inch shank diameter. Compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and side-lock holders with a 5/16 inch bore.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator using an appropriate toolholder and collet system. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer to maintain runout tolerance. Do not exceed the toolholder's rated RPM or the end mill manufacturer's recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material.
