The ACCUPRO 12181637 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.2756 inch (7.00 mm) mill diameter and a 0.4724 inch (12.00 mm) length of cut, this stub-length end mill delivers rigid, chatter-resistant performance in tight setups. The 40-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN coating increases surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the toughness and edge retention needed for demanding cuts. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production environments, or maintenance machining will find this tool well suited to finishing and light roughing operations.
This end mill is configured for right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction with centercutting capability, allowing plunge entry into workpiece material. The 8.00 mm shank diameter and 63.00 mm overall length make it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Its stub-length classification provides added rigidity compared to standard or long-reach versions, making it a practical choice when minimizing deflection is a priority. Suitable for milling slots, pockets, and profiles in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials where AlTiN coating performance is advantageous.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill suitable for standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting an 8.00 mm shank diameter in CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to confirm proper seating and avoid premature edge wear.
