The ACCUPRO 12181574 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built to stub-length proportions, it features a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) mill diameter, a 1/8 inch length of cut, and a 1/8 inch shank diameter with an overall length of 1.5 inches. The 2-flute, spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in tight-tolerance slots and profiles. An AlTiN finish increases surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. This end mill is centercutting and suited for both plunging and peripheral milling. It is a standard choice for CNC machinists working in tool and die, mold making, and precision part production.
This end mill is well suited for small-feature milling on CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and high-speed spindle setups. Its stub-length configuration minimizes deflection during fine detail work, making it appropriate for engraving, slotting, and contouring on ferrous alloys, stainless steel, titanium, and hardened steels. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and wear resistance needed in high-speed cutting environments. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation follow standard CNC spindle conventions, making this a direct drop-in for most setups without special toolholder configuration.
Designed as a standard stub-length square end mill compatible with 1/8 inch collets and toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cutting pass, particularly at this diameter range where runout directly affects tool life and surface finish.
