The ACCUPRO 12181514 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The tool features a 5/8-inch diameter with a 1/8-inch corner radius, a 1-1/4-inch length of cut, and a 3-1/2-inch overall length. Its 2-flute, right-hand spiral geometry is optimized for chip evacuation and smooth finishes. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating provides high heat resistance and extended tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. Micrograin carbide substrate adds toughness and wear resistance at the cutting edge. This tool is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC programmers in production and job-shop environments.
The 12181514 is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations where a blended radius at the corner is required to reduce stress concentration and improve surface finish. The centercutting design allows plunge entry into the workpiece. The 5/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders common in vertical machining centers. Single-end configuration means the tool is not reversible, making proper orientation in the holder critical before each use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production replacement for 5/8-inch shank corner radius end mills used in standard CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills equipped with compatible ER collet, shell mill, or side-lock toolholding systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding torque and runout specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked before inserting or removing the end mill. Inspect the shank and collet bore for chips or debris before seating the tool to maintain runout within acceptable limits. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine guarding requirements during setup and operation.
