The ACCUPRO 12181501 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 5/8-inch mill diameter, a 1-1/4-inch length of cut, and a 0.06-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in profiling and finishing passes. The two-flute geometry supports efficient chip evacuation. With a 40-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting direction, this end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where a controlled, smooth finish is required. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this type of tooling.
This end mill is appropriate for single-end milling operations in both job shop and production environments. The centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, making it versatile for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling. The bright uncoated finish is well suited for aluminum, brass, and other non-ferrous applications, as well as general-purpose steel milling where coolant is applied. The 5/8-inch shank diameter matches standard ER and milling chuck collets commonly found in production setups.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills accepting a 5/8-inch shank diameter via ER collet, milling chuck, or equivalent workholding.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling guidelines. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully within the collet or chuck to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention nut according to the collet manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator when precision surface finish is required.
