The ACCUPRO 12181496 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring a controlled edge radius. With a 0.625-inch mill diameter, a 1.25-inch length of cut, and a 0.125-inch corner radius, this single-end tool delivers consistent blending of floor-to-wall transitions in milled pockets, slots, and profiles. The micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for high-speed cutting in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. A 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shop and production environments will find this tool suitable for demanding finish and semi-finish passes.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills where a corner radius profile is required. It is appropriate for applications in mold and die work, aerospace component machining, and general precision part manufacturing. The bright uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous alloys, as well as softer steels where a coating is not required. Its centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling option for any milling machine spindle accepting a 0.625-inch straight shank, including ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders commonly used in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or lockout-tagout state before inserting or removing the tool from its holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder to the recommended minimum engagement depth before torquing the clamping mechanism. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and confirm runout at the tool tip with a dial indicator when tight tolerances are required.
