The ACCUPRO 12181475 is a single-end corner radius end mill ground from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiCN for extended tool life in demanding cutting applications. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the bottom of the cut. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With 2 flutes and a centercutting design, this end mill is suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and plunge operations. Machinists and toolroom professionals in production and job-shop environments rely on this geometry for profiling and finishing passes where corner radius blending is required.
This end mill is appropriate for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills where a corner radius profile is required at the base of a feature. The TiCN coating improves hardness and lubricity, making it well-suited for ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials where heat and wear resistance are priorities. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling on vertical and horizontal setups. Overall length of 3 inches and a 1/2 inch shank diameter accommodate standard ER and side-lock collet systems commonly found in production tooling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter end mill in standard collet or side-lock holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the minimum recommended insertion depth before torquing the retention nut or set screw. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator when tolerance-critical work is planned.
