The ACCUPRO 12181462 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter with a 0.010 inch corner radius, producing a consistent radius profile at the base of a cut to reduce stress concentrations and improve surface finish. With 2 flutes and a right-hand spiral flute direction, this tool is suited for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and contouring. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the bright uncoated finish makes it well-suited for non-ferrous metals and finishing passes in ferrous applications. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this type of cutting tool.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines for both roughing and finishing passes where a small corner radius is required. The single-end, centercutting design allows for plunge cutting capability, adding flexibility in programming and fixturing. The micrograin carbide substrate supports sharp edges and extended tool life in aluminum, brass, steel, and similar materials. It is commonly selected for die and mold work, aerospace components, and precision part production where corner radius control is critical.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 1/2 inch shank. Suitable for milling aluminum, brass, copper, steel, and similar machinable materials where a corner radius end profile is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following established toolroom practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet or tool holder. Confirm that runout is within acceptable limits after tool installation to maintain dimensional accuracy and tool life. Follow the machine manufacturer and cutting tool supplier recommendations for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material.
