The ACCUPRO 12181459 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 31/64 inch (0.4844 inch) cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating increases surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in abrasive cutting environments. With 2 flutes and a spiral flute geometry, this end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece. This tool is used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance environments.
This end mill fits applications requiring a right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction. The 1/2 inch shank diameter and 3 inch overall length make it compatible with standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and milling machine spindles used in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers. The regular length designation suits general-purpose milling work where extended reach is not required. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and edge retention at elevated cutting speeds. This tool is appropriate for profiling, contouring, slotting, and finish milling passes on a wide range of workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for standard 1/2 inch end mill holders and collet systems used in CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the recommended engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer's guidelines, and verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts. Avoid using damaged collets or holders, as excessive runout will reduce tool life and surface finish quality.
