The ACCUPRO 12181455 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.4724 inch mill diameter and a 0.9843 inch length of cut, this two-flute tool delivers efficient material removal in a regular-length configuration. The 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, making it well-suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, it offers excellent hardness and edge retention compared to high-speed steel alternatives. The uncoated finish makes it appropriate for use on a range of workpiece materials where coating interaction is a concern.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and production environments where tight tolerances are required. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling on most vertical and horizontal milling setups. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole, adding flexibility to tool paths. Machinists working on ferrous and non-ferrous materials in job shop and production settings will find this a practical general-purpose end mill.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for CNC and manual milling machines that accept a 12.00 mm (0.4724 inch) shank diameter end mill with right-hand cut orientation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a compatible collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting to confirm the tool is seated within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut.
