The ACCUPRO 12181451 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal removal in milling applications. Measuring 29/64 inches (0.4531 inches) in diameter with a 1 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length, this tool is built for consistent performance in tight-tolerance work. The micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance, and the AlTiN coating extends tool life in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production environments, and maintenance machining specify this tool for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations.
This end mill fits standard 1/2 inch shank toolholders including collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders found on vertical machining centers and CNC mills. Its centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry into workpiece material, expanding its usefulness in pocket milling and ramp-entry operations. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling on CNC and manual mills. The regular-length body suits the majority of general-purpose milling tasks where extended reach is not required.
Designed for use in 1/2 inch shank toolholders on CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. Fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 1/2 inch shank with a shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 / -0.0004 inches.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Verify proper tool stick-out and runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Follow shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
