The ACCUPRO 12181444 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. With a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) cutting diameter and a 1 inch length of cut, this two-flute tool delivers clean, accurate slots, pockets, and profiling passes. The TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating increases surface hardness and reduces tool wear, extending service life in harder workpiece materials. A 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Micrograin solid carbide construction provides rigidity and edge retention that high-speed steel tooling cannot match. This is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration with a spiral flute geometry.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills performing general-purpose milling on steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without pre-drilling. With a 7/16 inch shank diameter and 2-3/4 inch overall length, it fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders common in production and job shop environments. The regular length classification makes it appropriate for standard-reach applications where a stub or long-reach tool is not required. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators in manufacturing and maintenance environments are the primary users.
Designed as a standard 7/16 inch shank square end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, side-lock holders, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 7/16 inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills configured for right-hand rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or tool-change state before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank to the minimum insertion depth recommended for the toolholder type in use to maintain runout accuracy. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against published cutting data for the workpiece material and coating type before starting the cut.
