The ACCUPRO 12181436 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool measures 0.3906 inches (25/64 inch) in cutting diameter with a 1-inch length of cut and a 7/16-inch shank diameter. A 40-degree helix angle combined with a spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance, extending tool life in high-speed dry or semi-dry cutting applications. At 2-3/4 inches overall length, this is a standard-length, single-end configuration suited for general-purpose slot milling, profiling, and peripheral cutting operations.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills for slotting, contouring, and profile milling. The centercutting design allows plunge entry into the workpiece without pre-drilling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry are standard for conventional spindle rotation. The micrograin carbide substrate supports high surface footage and is well-suited for shops running aluminum, steel, stainless, and similar materials at elevated speeds. It is a regular-length tool appropriate for general shop floor use where extended reach is not required.
Designed as a drop-in replacement end mill for standard 7/16-inch collet or end mill holder setups on CNC machining centers and conventional vertical mills requiring a 25/64-inch diameter, 2-flute square end mill with a 1-inch length of cut.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware to the machine tool manufacturer's specification. Inspect the collet and holder for runout before initiating a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
