The ACCUPRO 12181434 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.3937 inch (10 mm) mill diameter and a 40-degree helix angle, it delivers aggressive chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The 2-flute geometry with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating provides improved wear resistance and surface hardness over uncoated carbide. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and fine finishes on demanding materials. This is a centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into a workpiece as well as perform peripheral and slot milling operations. It is installed and run by machinists and CNC operators in precision manufacturing environments.
This end mill suits applications in general-purpose machining, die and mold work, and production milling where close dimensional tolerances are required. The regular-length profile and 0.9843 inch (25 mm) length of cut make it well suited for shallow-to-moderate depth slot milling, profiling, and contouring passes. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional spindle setups. The spiral flute design promotes consistent chip flow away from the cutting zone, reducing recutting and heat buildup during continuous passes.
Designed as a standard straight-shank square end mill compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 10 mm (0.3937 inch) shank diameter. Verify holder tolerance range against shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches before installation.
Install in a clean, properly sized collet or toolholder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the recommended insertion depth before securing. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits prior to cutting - excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Follow shop-specific feeds and speeds protocols and machine parameter sheets for TiCN-coated carbide end mills.
