The ACCUPRO 12181423 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3/8 inch diameter with a 0.01 inch corner radius, producing controlled edge breaks and smooth transitions on workpiece corners. The two-flute, right-hand spiral geometry promotes chip evacuation, while the AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and tool life at elevated cutting speeds. With a 7/8 inch length of cut and 2.5 inch overall length, this single-end, centercutting tool is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations. It is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC milling machines and manual knee mills.
This end mill is used in job shops, production machining environments, and toolroom applications where consistent corner geometry is required. The micrograin solid carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and wear resistance on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Its centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling. The AlTiN coating makes it well suited for dry or semi-dry cutting on alloy steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and hardened materials where thermal load is a concern.
Designed as a standard 3/8 inch shank corner radius end mill for use in collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders sized for 3/8 inch straight shanks on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
This tool is installed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom practices. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine power is locked out before loading or removing the end mill from the holder. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before committing to a production setup. Cutting parameters including speed, feed, and depth of cut should be determined based on workpiece material, machine rigidity, and coolant strategy.
