The ACCUPRO 12181405 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 3/8-inch mill diameter, a 7/8-inch length of cut, and a 0.01-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the bottom of milled slots and pockets. With 2 flutes and a right-hand spiral flute direction, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and clean finishes in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bright, uncoated finish is suited to applications where coating compatibility or regrinding is a consideration. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is appropriate for slotting, profiling, and pocket-milling operations in both manual and CNC machining centers. The single-end, center-cutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional side cutting. With a 3/8-inch shank diameter matching the mill diameter and a 2.5-inch overall length, it fits standard ER and straight-bore toolholders common in vertical machining centers and knee mills. The 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and is well suited for moderate to high-speed applications in steel, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for standard 3/8-inch straight-bore or collet-style toolholders used in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following established toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder collet or bore to the recommended engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer before torquing retention hardware. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation and before initiating a cut cycle.
