The ACCUPRO 12181400 is a 2-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built from micrograin carbide stock and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this tool handles high-heat environments and abrasive workpiece materials. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces chatter on finishing and semi-finishing passes. At 23/64 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch length of cut and a 3/8-inch shank, it fits standard ER and end mill holders common in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Right-hand cut, right-hand flute, spiral flute geometry, centercutting capable. Installed and run by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge-entry operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including alloy steels, stainless, and hardened materials where AlTiN coating provides thermal protection. The regular-length designation and 2-1/2-inch overall length make it appropriate for standard-reach applications where rigidity is a priority. The 2-flute configuration leaves adequate chip clearance for slotting passes and gummy materials. Typical applications include general-purpose CNC milling, die and mold work, and close-tolerance profiling where a micrograin substrate is specified for edge retention.
Designed for use in standard 3/8-inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and milling machine spindles accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank. Fits CNC machining centers and manual knee mills configured for right-hand tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer to maintain rigidity and avoid pullout. Verify runout at the cutting diameter after tooling is secured, particularly for tight-tolerance finishing work.
