The ACCUPRO 12181394 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and high-temperature alloys. It features a 21/64 inch (0.3281 inch) cutting diameter, a 2-flute spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle, and an AlTiN coating that extends tool life under high-heat cutting conditions. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and wear resistance suited to demanding CNC machining environments. This is a center-cutting, single-end tool with a right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation, making it suitable for plunging, slotting, and peripheral milling operations performed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill fits standard CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills where a 3/8 inch shank collet or end mill holder is used. The regular-length geometry with a 7/8 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length suits close-tolerance work in production and job-shop environments. It is appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes where tight dimensional control is required. The AlTiN finish performs well in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting strategies common in high-speed machining of alloy steels and stainless steels.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill with a 3/8 inch shank, compatible with any machine tool equipped with a 3/8 inch collet, end mill holder, or milling chuck conforming to that shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and cutting diameter before engaging the cut. Secure the shank fully within the collet or holder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth to prevent pullout. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and replace the tool if damage is observed.
