The ACCUPRO 12181384 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 5/16-inch diameter with a 0.0200-inch corner radius and is coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) for enhanced heat resistance and tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The 2-flute, single-end configuration provides efficient chip evacuation, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and contouring cuts. A 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces chatter. This tool is installed and operated by CNC machinists and manual mill operators working in production and job-shop settings.
This end mill is appropriate for use on ferrous metals, hardened steels, stainless steel, and similar difficult-to-machine materials where AlTiN coating provides a thermal barrier that extends tool life. With a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 2-1/2-inch overall length, it handles standard-depth milling passes on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The centercutting design allows plunge milling in addition to peripheral cuts. The 5/16-inch shank diameter matches standard collet and tool-holder sizes commonly found in CNC and manual milling setups.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/16-inch shank diameter with ER or precision collet tool holders.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with end mill setup and speeds-and-feeds selection. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder to the recommended grip length before torquing the nut. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation to confirm concentricity before beginning a cut.
