The ACCUPRO 12181377 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 5/16 inch diameter with a matching 5/16 inch shank, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the base of milled features. The 2-flute geometry and 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation. A TiCN coating increases surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding cutting conditions. This is a single-end, centercutting design, meaning it can plunge directly into material. Machinists and toolroom technicians working in job shops or production environments are the primary users.
This end mill suits finish milling, profiling, and slotting operations where a defined corner radius is required at the base of a feature. The centercutting capability makes it appropriate for ramping and plunge entry moves. At 5/16 inch diameter and 2-1/2 inch overall length, it fits standard ER or straight-bore collet toolholders commonly used on vertical machining centers and CNC knee mills. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting make it compatible with conventional spindle rotation on standard milling equipment.
Designed as a standard-shank corner radius end mill compatible with 5/16 inch collet toolholders and straight-bore end mill holders used on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine control in a safe state. Use a calibrated torque wrench and the collet nut specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the shank. Inspect the shank and collet bore for chips or burrs before clamping to ensure runout is within acceptable limits. Tool selection, speeds, and feeds should be verified against the workpiece material and machine capability before beginning a cut.
