The ACCUPRO 12181348 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. With a 1/4 inch cutting diameter and a 0.02 inch corner radius, it produces smooth, radiused transitions on part edges while reducing stress concentrations common with sharp-corner tools. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and improves surface finish. An AlTiN coating extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can be used for plunging as well as peripheral milling. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users in shop and production settings.
This end mill is suited for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills handling steel, stainless steel, titanium, and other hard alloys where a corner break or radius blend is required. The 3/4 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length make it appropriate for moderate-depth pockets and profiling passes. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation. It is packaged as a single unit and sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for 1/4 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank to the recommended engagement depth in the toolholder and torque the drawbar or collet nut to the toolholder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on a small-diameter carbide tool.
