The ACCUPRO 12181340 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and hard material applications. The tool measures 0.25 inches in diameter with a 0.75-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length. The corner radius is 0.020 inches, which reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in profiling and contouring passes. A 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The TiCN coating provides increased surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into a workpiece in addition to standard peripheral and slot milling. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators in job shop, toolroom, and production environments.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including alloy steels, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. The corner radius geometry makes it a common choice for die and mold work, part profiling, and floor-to-wall transitions where a sharp 90-degree corner is not required. The 2-flute configuration provides adequate chip clearance for slots and pockets where chip load management is critical. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher cutting speeds and feeds than standard carbide grades in demanding applications.
Designed as a standard shank end mill compatible with 1/4-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders used in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before installing or removing the tool from its holder. Seat the shank to the recommended engagement depth specified by the toolholder manufacturer and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material.
