The ACCUPRO 12181268 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining applications. It features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and improves surface finish on milled profiles. The 2-flute, single-end geometry with a 40-degree right-hand helix provides efficient chip evacuation at higher feed rates. An AlTiN coating increases surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened workpiece materials. This tool is installed and run by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling of slots, pockets, and contoured features where a radiused corner is required by design or to prevent sharp-corner stress risers. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Its 1/2 inch length of cut and 1-1/2 inch overall length make it well matched to shallow-to-medium-depth cavity work on vertical machining centers and CNC knee mills. Micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and consistent edge geometry across the tool life.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers, knee mills, and similar equipment accepting 1/8 inch straight-shank end mills via collet chuck or end mill holder.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool from the holder. Use a calibrated collet or end mill holder sized to the 1/8 inch shank diameter and tighten to the holder manufacturer's specified torque procedure. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating to confirm tool concentricity before beginning a cut.
