The ACCUPRO 12180826 is a 7-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-productivity milling in demanding shop environments. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with an nACRo coating, it handles aggressive cutting parameters in hardened steels, stainless alloys, and high-temperature materials. The 37.5-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. At 0.5 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and 4-inch overall length, this tool fits standard half-inch collets and tool holders. Variable index geometry reduces chatter and vibration during heavy material removal passes. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills in production and job-shop settings. The right-hand cut, right-hand spiral flute configuration is the standard orientation for most vertical machining applications. The 7-flute design is optimized for finishing and semi-finishing passes where surface finish and material removal rate both matter. It is a single-end tool intended for direct chuck or collet mounting in 0.5-inch bore tooling. Machinists working in aerospace, mold and die, and general precision metalworking will find this geometry appropriate for profiling, slotting within its flute length, and contour milling operations.
Designed for use in 0.5-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. No specific machine model compatibility was provided by the manufacturer for this part number.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the first cut, as excessive runout will accelerate tool wear and degrade surface finish.
