The ACCUPRO 12180746 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 5/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/4-inch length of cut, and a 3-1/2-inch overall length with a matching 5/8-inch shank diameter. The five-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle and spiral flute configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating adds heat and wear resistance, making this tool well suited for dry or high-speed cutting in hardened steels, stainless steels, and other demanding workpiece materials. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is built for milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals where tight tolerances and surface finish matter. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, expanding its use to slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity needed for aggressive material removal rates on VMCs, HMCs, and manual knee mills. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC setups. The single-end configuration makes it a direct consumable replacement in high-volume production environments.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement square end mill for CNC machining centers, manual mills, and similar machine tool setups requiring a 5/8-inch diameter, 5/8-inch shank, single-end carbide tool with standard ER or set-screw toolholders.
This end mill is installed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool-change procedure completed according to the machine tool manufacturer guidelines before inserting or removing the tool. Ensure the shank is fully seated in the toolholder and that runout is within acceptable limits before engaging the workpiece. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine-specific operating procedures when setting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
