The ACCUPRO 12180638 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles high-heat cutting environments where tool life and dimensional accuracy matter. The 0.06-inch corner radius reduces stress concentrations at pocket corners and floor-wall transitions, extending both tool and workpiece life. With a 1/2-inch diameter, 2-inch length of cut, and 4-flute spiral geometry, this single-end centercutting tool is suited for machinists running finish passes, slotting, and ramping operations in ferrous and hard materials.
This end mill is used in CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers across job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole, giving setup flexibility for pocketing and profiling operations. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance at elevated cutting speeds, making this tool appropriate for dry or near-dry cutting of hardened steels, stainless, and cast iron.
Designed for use in standard 1/2-inch tool holders including ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit systems on CNC machining centers. Confirm holder runout and clamping torque specifications with your tool holder manufacturer before use.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state per your facility lockout/tagout procedure. Seat the 1/2-inch shank fully into the tool holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before running at speed. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer or machine builder recommended depths of cut and feed rates for the workpiece material. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use.
