The ACCUPRO 12180634 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated temperatures, making this tool well-suited for dry or near-dry cutting of hardened steels, stainless, and high-temperature alloys. The 1/2 inch shank fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders. Single-end, centercutting geometry allows plunge entry and full slot milling.
This end mill is used in CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers for finishing and semi-finishing operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The corner radius geometry is preferred on die and mold work, aerospace components, and any application where a sharp 90-degree corner would cause premature chipping. Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable safety procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the recommended gauge line depth in the toolholder and that the holder is torqued per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
