The ACCUPRO 12180628 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. With a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 1-3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius, this tool produces smooth corner transitions while reducing stress concentrations at part edges. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. A 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation. This end mill is used by machinists and tool and die professionals in CNC milling centers for roughing and finishing passes on steel, stainless, and hardened workpiece materials.
This end mill suits production and job shop environments where tight corner radii and consistent surface finish are required. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional side milling. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation match standard CNC spindle configurations. With a 1 inch shank diameter matching the cutting diameter, it seats directly in standard ER or side-lock holders without a reducer. Typical applications include mold and die work, aerospace component profiling, and general steel machining where a corner radius is specified on the finished part.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tool compatible with CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines accepting a 1 inch straight shank end mill held in standard ER collet chucks, Weldon side-lock holders, or hydraulic toolholders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended insertion depth in the holder and torque set screws or collet nuts to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide end mills.
